Ciryath's Account
(hastily scribbled on a what appears to be a spell scroll)
The Goddess surely smiles upon us! I have found a witness whom I consider
reliable, the Lady Ceridwen. These are the facts she graciously offered.
According to Lady Ceridwen, there has been no change in the Princess'
critical condition. No regent has been appointed, the Captain of the Borderlands
is taking care of most things during the Princess'... absence.
The Lady Ceridwen informed me that the Princess had been safe and sound
when they met earlier that morning. As it happens, Ceridwen was the first
to find her body in the afternoon. Summarizing her tale, the scene was
an awful mess; torn tapestries, a lot of blood all over, furniture overturned,
dagger in her chest, overturned goblet on the ground beside her. As she
arrived to the scene, she saw "a figure cloaked in the cloak of fire
coming out" of the room.
According to her and the Captain's investigations, Taliesin was the only
one present in the Borderlands at the time, who would be wearing such
a cloak. Not much of an evidence" but it made the Captain look for
Taliesin in the first place.
The next morning, the Lady Ceridwen "found him hunched up on the
ground near the castle gates, looking disheveled, dirty, covered with
blood", "muttering to himself, growling even". According
to her, when she tried to approach him, he almost snapped at her. She
managed to convince him that she wasn't a threat, and finally, he started
to speak to her, "I didn't do it, she made me". She then went
on to describe how his body was racked by a series of convulsions. After
that, he just ran away. The Lady Ceridwen reported this all to the Captain,
who then placed a bounty on his head.
I shall now proceed to see if any more clues can be found from the Borderlands.
It is, however, a desperate task, since everything's been pretty much
scrubbed already, all evidence removed.
